The wait is finally over. Renault India officially launched the all-new third-generation Duster on March 17, 2026, pricing it from ₹10.49 lakh to ₹18.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The return of one of India's most beloved SUVs marks Renault's most significant product push in years — and if the booking numbers are anything to go by, the market has been waiting just as eagerly as the carmaker hoped.

Prices and Variants

The new Duster is offered across five trims — Authentic, Evolution, Techno, Techno+, and Iconic — with a clear feature progression at each step. The entry-level Authentic variant at ₹10.49 lakh packs LED lighting, a 7-inch TFT driver display, rear AC vents, and over 35 standard safety features. The range-topping Iconic trim at ₹18.49 lakh loads up with 18-inch alloy wheels, leatherette interiors, ventilated and powered front seats, 48-colour ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS with 17 functions.

There is also a limited Iconic Launch Edition that adds yellow decals and 18-inch Adventure Black alloy wheels for a more adventurous visual statement.

Three Engine Options

At launch, Renault offers the Duster with two turbocharged petrol engines. The base unit is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol producing 100 PS and 160 Nm, available only with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Step up and you get a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol with 163 PS and 280 Nm, offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic. A strong-hybrid version — a 1.8-litre petrol paired with an electric motor producing a combined 160 PS — will follow by Diwali 2026, promising 80 percent electric driving in city conditions.

The hybrid variant is already a phenomenon before it even has a price tag. Renault confirmed that bookings for the hybrid Duster are completely sold out for 2026, with fresh bookings expected to reopen only around Diwali, and deliveries likely extending into 2027.

Designed Specifically for India

While the Duster is sold globally, the India-spec model has been extensively re-engineered for local conditions. It rides on a class-leading 212 mm ground clearance, gets a connected LED rear light bar unique to this market, and features pronounced wheel arches with generous body cladding. The Indian design studio reportedly lobbied hard to have the bold DUSTER lettering on the front grille instead of the standard Renault logo — a decision that gives it a distinct, no-nonsense identity on Indian roads.

Inside, the cabin is a significant leap over the outgoing model. A 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay sits alongside a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. A panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, Qi2 wireless charging with a magnetic phone holder, and a 518-litre boot round out a very practical package.

Safety as Standard

Safety has been taken seriously. Six airbags come standard across all variants, along with disc brakes on all four wheels. Level 2 ADAS on higher trims covers autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. A 360-degree camera, TPMS, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold add further peace of mind. Renault backs it all with a class-leading 7-year or 1.5 lakh kilometre warranty — whichever comes first.

Who Should Buy It?

The Duster is squarely aimed at buyers who want genuine road presence, real ground clearance, and a feature list that does not embarrass itself against the Hyundai Creta or Kia Seltos. At ₹10.49 lakh, the base variant undercuts many rivals on price while still offering a solid safety package. The sweet spot sits around the Techno+ trim, which adds the panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, and connected car technology for roughly ₹15–16 lakh.

Deliveries of the turbo-petrol variants are expected to begin by mid-April 2026. If you are considering a booking, the time to act is now — waiting lists at dealerships across metro cities are already building fast.
